Running Out The Clock

One more day until the next chemo. Looks like I took my break from thinking about cancer too seriously leading to my missing my oncologist appointment this morning. True it was an early appointment (7:45am) and I was distracted by the power going out, but I just spaced and am not happy about it - nobody is perfect. While in the hospital I’ll be able to see one but I was really lucky to get that appointment on such short notice. Oh well. I spent the day working from home thinking maybe I could get in to see someone today but that didn’t happen.

I’ve been taking norvasc since last Thursday. Usually it’s taken by those who want to lower their blood pressure although it’s also good for angina (chest pain) or blocked arteries. That’s not why I’m taking it and the same applies to the nitroglycerin tablets. Nothing like having to explain to your pharmacist why you’re taking the medication they’re giving you to make you feel like a guinea pig.

We spent a nice day as a family today. We went to New Paltz where Anastasia had a ballet class. I was able to catch a few glimpses of her dancing by walking by an open, outside door a few times. Afterwords, we ate at Bacchus, a bar that used to be one of our haunts when we used to live there. Bringing the kids to a bar to eat as the sun was going down felt a little odd but the children’s menu was still out and the late night eats menu hadn’t started yet, so it might have been alright. Anastasia complained her stockings were sticking to the seat.
