Music I Listened to While in the Hospital

While in the hospital I spent a lot of time trying to sleep and thus a lot of time wearing my ear-covering headphones listening to music to try and block out all the noise. This is what I had with me. All new acquisitions and all well worth it.

Avi Bortnick - Clean Slate
Avi Bortnick is most well-known for playing rhythm guitar for jazz guitarist John Scofield. 2003’s Clean Slate is his only solo effort.

Mike Gordon - The Green Sparrow
Mike Gordon is best known for being the bass player in the now defunct jam-band Phish. The Green Sparrow is his first solo effort since 2003 and just came out August 5th. I have an autographed copy.

Bla Fleck and Edgar Myer - Music for Two
Béla Fleck is best known as leader of the experimental jam jazz band Béla Fleck and the Flecktones while Edgar Meyer is best known as a classical bass virtuoso instrumentalist. Music for Two was recorded live in 2004 and is a combination of classical, bluegrass, and jazz with only double bass and banjo.

Bindlestick Bill - Songs Along the Hudson
After posting my transcript I realized I had also listened to Bindlestick Bill best known to me as my daughter’s teacher but also known as a musician playing original, educational songs for children throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. Bill’s debut Songs Along the Hudson is a mix of folk, ragtime and a touch of the blues and fun for all.
